『Kurakake-gama』

I make teapot in a wood-fire kiln. Since baking in a wood-fire kiln is very difficult, generating a lot of failures, many craftsman use kilns operated by electricity and gas.

Since baking in a wood-fire kiln kiln is very difficult, generating a lot of failures, kilns operated by electric and gas are often used.
I built a new Anagama (hole type kiln) at the foot of Mt. Hakodate in 2013.
My family and friends all helped me and we finally complete it.
Kuragake-gama is its name.Mt. Hakodate is made up of different smaller mountains and I took its name from one of them.
From the site, we can enjoy the night view of Hakodate and the sunrise.

I am very happy to be able to introduce the tea culture of Japan to people in faraway countries through my teapots.
