Quantum mechanics is too old and useless, it tries to describe experimental data using unreal quasiparticles with fake (= effective ) mass.
This latest research also uses fictitious quasiparticle = exciton-polariton with nonphysical figure and fake effective spin-orbit ( this p.14 )
What is this topological insulator useful for ? This news just says 'vaguely', "This unusual characteristic could provide innovations ?" ← still useless, nothing realized.
This research is just about some phase changes using laser instead of heat, and claims "they may be able to harness it ?" ← still useless, nothing realized.
This also relies on unreal quasiparticle and fake electron's mass ( this p.4 left, this p.5 )
In this way, useless quantum mechanics with unreal particles sets some fictitious target, which can never be realized.

This study claims that fictional wormhole = faster-than-light link between black holes may emit gravitational wave.
This is just "imaginary" theory with No reality.
Time-stopping black hole cannot be formed or collide.
(Fig.3) ↓ Unreal quantum computer = imaginary target.
Useless quantum mechanics needs imaginary target = parallel world quantum computer to get governments' subsidy.
This study just uses ordinary classical computer ( Not quantum ) for some "quantum algorithm ?", so it has nothing to do with fantasy quantum computer.
What is it useful for ?
They claim "quantum algorithms have the potential to speed up computation in a theoretical sense ?" ← still useless, nothing realized.
In this way, the current quantum mechanics with 'imaginary target' makes No progress, tries to mislead readers using vague confusing phrases.

Large Hadron collider (= LHC ) wasted huge taxpayers' money, as seen in Higgs = still useless.
LHC just measures meaningless irrelevant garbage and noises to speculate imaginary undetectable new particles (← ? ), which cannot be isolated or confirmed as real.
So physicists and the media need "imaginary target = Big Bang ?" to make people falsely excited and deceive governments in order to get subsidy.
This research claims that "imaginary" early universe may be created just by colliding Xenons? ← nonsense.
Gigantic particle colliders just pursue illusory target (= early universe ? ), we have to stop wasting time and money in these meaningless, nonsense researches of LHC.
