Time crystal is a meaningless, useless concept.

Time crystal is just "random meaningless oscillation" with No practical applicaion.

[ Time crystal is neither a perpetual motion machine, time travel, nor violating energy conservation law.  ← boring meaningless crystals. ]

(Fig.1)  ↓ "Misleading images" are rampant in fantasy quantum mechanics

In fact, the frequently-seen dubious "hot topic" = "time crystal" is just a meaningless and useless concept with No practical application even in the future.

The media is filled with hyped news such as "Time crystal may realize time travel !", "Time crystal could change everything !" and "Time crystal may help developing (fantasy) quantum computers !"

None of these hyped news is true.

This dubious time crystal has nothing to do with (fantasy) quantum computers (= unrealized forever ).

Actually, the last paragraph of this latest time crystal news just says
"This work is currently very far away from a working quantum computer."

Even this latest Science journal's time crystal paper mentioned No quantum computers, instead, they just argue time crystal is just random (meaningless) oscillation ( this last paragraph ).

Furthermore, contrary to some exaggerated fake news, this time crystal has nothing to do with the perpetual-motion machine or violation of energy conservation law ( this 6th paragraph ).

The 1st paragraph of this site says
"quantum time crystals are theoretical systems that exhibit periodic oscillations in their ground state, i.e., their state of lowest possible energy."

↑ The concept of this time crystal is boring, Not special or unique at all, because any atomic electrons and nuclei are always moving and oscillating with kinetic energies also in the lowest-energy ground state (= then, all ordinary atoms are time crystals, if the above definition is true ), as you know.

Time crystal means just the ( Not perpetual ) "random meaningless oscillation" of atoms or ions with magnetic moment called (fictitious) spin (= which is not real spinning ) driven by some external electromagnetic laser pulses, without violating energy conservation law.  ← Not a new physics at all, hence time crystal is Not worth consideration.

↑ So time crystal is Not a special concept but just a meaningless boring concept with No practical application.

This site ( 9th-paragraph~ ) explains about one typical example of time crystal,
"To observe both time crystals, researchers used helium-3 cooled to within a whisker of absolute zero (= Not comletely absolute zero, so these atoms have some small energies to oscillate ). The helium (with magnetic moment ) is put into a state where all the magnets point in the same direction, creating what is called magnon (= unreal quasiparticle model,  this 10th-paragraph, hence No real mechanism of the fishy time crystal oscillation can be given by the fictitious quantum mechanical quasiparticle model ).."

".. The ( unreal quasiparticle ) magnon is driven by the magnetic field of the container that holds the helium in place, as well as an applied radio frequency field."

".. This is in part because the driving radio frequency field simply inputs random energy. And that makes it even harder to understand.."

".. When the researchers switch the radio frequency field off, the time quasicrystal quickly falls apart and the system forms a discrete time crystal. In this case, the drive frequency comes from the fact that the magnetic field of the helium modifies the shape of the container, sloshing the helium about a bit.."

".. But this has an expiration date (= Not perpetual machine ! ). As the helium sloshes, the collisions cause some of the helium atoms to flip orientation. When this happens, their magnetic field flips direction and they are thrown out of the trap. That means that the discrete time crystal slowly fades away."

↑ So the (useless) time crystal is just a random meaningless small oscillation of cold helium-3 atoms driven by the external magnetic field pulse, and this meaningless oscillation continues for only a non-perpetual short time (= only 1000 seconds, this 4-5th paragraphs,  this p.2-left-1st-paragraph )

↑ Time crystal is Not a perpetual machine, let alone violating energy conservation law, unlike the media-hype.

Also in the Google's Sycamore quantum computer's time crystal case, they just illuminated only 20 qubits (= just 20 bitstrings, which small number of bits can Not make any practical computers at all ) by some laser, and made those qubits oscillate for only a short finite (= Not perpetual ) time (= just a few hundred cycles,  this 6-7th paragraphs,  this Fig.3-4 )

As a result, the so-called "time-crystal", which the media often talks about, is just a meaningless boring concept (= Not worth spending research money for ) which can neither violate energy conservation nor oscillate perpetually (= as I said, any ordinary atoms have some kinetic energies, hence they are always oscillating even at the lowest-energy ground state, which has nothing to do with the phony time crystal ).

The inventor of this meaningless "time crystal" is Nobel laureate Frank Wilczek who is also known to invent the fictitious concepts of fractional-charge anyon quasiparticles.

The unscientific quantum mechanics has No ability to describe atoms or electrons using the concrete realistic picture, instead, it just relies on unphysical math symbols ( this p.7 ) or unreal quasiparticle models to explain this meaningless time crystals, too.

So these alleged "images" of time crystals are misleadingly designed to make laypersons falsely believe the (unreal) quantum mechanics may be useful ( this 6th-last paragraph ) despite the fact that fantasy quantum mechanics has never been useful.

Time crystal hyped news.

Time crystal is a meaningless useless concept except for journals.

The 7th-10th, 12th paragraphs of this hyped news say

"From 2017 onward, scientists have indeed succeeded on a handful of occasions in demonstrating a potential time crystal. However, these were systems that—unlike Wilczek's original idea—are subjected to a temporal excitation with a specific periodicity, but then react with another period twice as long."

"A crystal that behaves periodically in time, although excitation is time-independent"

"physicists.. now designed a special crystal made of indium gallium arsenide, in which the nuclear spins act as a reservoir for the time crystal. The crystal is continuously illuminated so that a nuclear spin polarization forms through interaction with electron spins (= this experiment did Not see the unreal electron spin itself ). And it is precisely this nuclear spin polarization that then spontaneously generates oscillations, equivalent to a time crystal."

"The status of the experiments at the present time is that the crystal's lifetime is at least 40 minutes"

"These areas are also interesting, as chaotic behavior, which can be maintained over long periods of time (← No mention of practical use, which means the alleged tiime crystal showing only chaotic behavior is completely useless )"

↑ This experiment just continuously illuminated some material by laser light at extremely low temperature (< 20K ), and measured some periodic magnetic polarization change (= Not seeing electron spin ) of the material by the probe light based on classical Faraday rotation effect that just sees material magnetic direction, Not the unreal spin ( this p.2-Fig.1b ).

↑ That's all, this so-called time crystal is completely a meaningless, useless concept except for researchers wasting time to publish papers in academic journals.

This 2nd-last paragraph says
"the current experiments with time crystals are far from any practical applications, whatever they might be"

Time crystal is Not an occult quantum mechanical material violating laws of thermodynamics nor perpetual motion machine, so it's not worth researching on.

This lower paragraphs after "Making time crystal" say
"the (time crystal) materials received external stimulation—lasers or microwave pulses (= needing energy, so not perpetual motion machine ) — but they displayed a different period than that of their stimuli. In other words, they broke time symmetry spontaneously (= meaningless unphysical concept )."

↑ This means the (impractical) time crystal is just like some "broken windmill" that is rotating at unexpected chaotic frequency exposed to periodically-changing wind (= periods and frequencies of the broken windmill or time crystal and wind are different ).

This research paper (= p.3-right-2nd-paragraph ) also says
"Auto-oscillations occur in dissipative, nonlinear systems as the ENSS (= electron nuclear spin system or time crystal ), when a continuous source of incoming energy (= laser light ) - in our case applied highly non-resonant - compensates for the energy losses (= Not perpetual machine ). The time evolution is then determined by the intrinsic properties of the system and is not affected from the outside. It may evolve as periodic, chaotic, or even unpredictable (= chaotic oscillating time crystal is completely useless )".

↑ This experiment did Not conduct any quantum mechanical calculation based on spin nor quantum mechanical prediction.  ← No proof of electron spin.

They just used the experimentally-observed electromagnetic values of mateial as free fitting parameters ( this p.2-right-1st-paragraph electron g-factor = 0.568 is completely different from electron spin g-factor = 2 = No evidence of electron spin ) with No quantum mechanical prediction.

This p.6-right-4th-paragraph uses free parameters fitted with experiments with No quantum mechanical prediction.

Time crystal is just a meaningless boring crystal contrary to the media-hype. Physicists (and journals ) never consider their practical application (except in hyped articles misleading laypersons ).
