The Striped Patterns of Zebra

Zoo was my favorite place to visit in my childhood, and I did love to see the animals from African countries, such as Lion and Giraffe.

And I wondered how and why the God created such a wonderful striped patterns of Zebra. White and black stripes, stretch all over its body, struck me and made me recognize with ease and I never forget its scenery. One of my friends joked me that Zebra is Zebra (striped horse in Japanese), just because of its stripes. And some teacher told me that striped patterns makes other animals confuse to watch in the bush because of its safety sake caused by its stripes. No answers were in there to me.

When I saw one movie, I found Zebra was so striking being in savanna that there might be another way to be indistinguishable than striped. Afterwards I found also Zebras in savanna are always gathering, different from those in zoo and there is some hidden relationship between being striped and gathering.

Since I have learned insect has a compound eyes and its sight is quite different from human being's, I thought animal also has a different sight from ours. In zebra's case, a moire phenomena of gathering zebras makes other animals confuse to watch them and almost see nothing as a transparence objects. In order to get right answer of them, I wish I would have visited savanna and asked zebra why and how.
