Quasiparticle is useless
(Fig.1) Unreal quasiparticles are useful for computers ! is fake news.
The 8th, 11th, 2nd-last paragraphs of this hyped news (9/16/2025) say
"While the laser pulses illuminated the tip and WTe2, the top layer of the material behaved differently, exhibiting new electronic properties not observed when the laser was turned off. "
"lab computationally found that the layers of WTe2 shift by 7 picometers while they are wiggling, which is hard to observe "
"this research will (= still unrealized ) lead to the use of new materials, lower costs, faster speeds and greater energy efficiency for future phones and computer technology." ← fake news
↑ This research paper ↓
p.1-abstract says nothing about any detailed practical use such as energy-efficient phones nor computers, contrary to the above overhyped fake news. ← discrepancy between fake news and actual papers
p.4-Discussion-last-paragraph says
"the prospect of quasiparticle (= unreal particle ) interference imaging with THz-STM (= material illuminated with THZ light pulse, whose electric conductivity is observed by scanning-tunneling microscope )"
↑ This p.4 discussion also says nothing about any practical use such as energy-efficient phones nor computers, contrary to the above hyped news.
p.6 used DFT treating material as one-pseudo-electron model with artificially-chosen (fake) exchange-correlation energy functionals that can Not predict any physical values.
As a result, this research just tried to describe material's electric conductance (= measured by STM microscope ) transiently changed by light pulse as unreal ( massless Weyl fermion ) quasiparticle model with No practical application such as dreamlike energy-efficient computers cited in the above fake news.
