Permanent residency & Naturalization

   >>Permanent Residency Status Application

Permanent residency Status is one of the 27 kinds of Residence
Status. If the foreign person who lives in Japan hopes to reside
in Japan permanently, the status should be “Permanent
   Residency”.

Its change approval needs to adhere to stricter conditions and
requirements compared to other statuses. Thus, the applicant
should deeply contemplate if he/she is applicable to become
a Permanent Resident before applying for this status.

A rough outline of the requirements are having stay in Japan
for more than 10 years, and good behavior.
Moreover, he/she should have ability/property that will allows
him/her to live sufficiently in Japan.

However, if the applicant is a person of Japanese descent or a
person who already has permanent residency or his/her child,
the criteria is much more lax.
If you are interested in this status and need to know further
information, please feel free to contact us at any time.

Once the foreign person obtains Permanent Residency, there is
no limitation for period of stay or job opportunity as long as
it is legal. The scope of activity of the person in Japan will be
widened, and the person's social status will increase.

   >>Naturalization Permission Application

Naturalization means a foreign person changes his/her nationality
from his/her motherland to that of Japanese.
Thus, a foreigner is treated not as a foreigner anymore, but as a
Japanese following naturalization. Thus the permission is very
difficult to get and there are many requirements.
The procedure requires a long time and much efforts.

As for an outline of the requirements, the person must be more
than 20 years old, and living for more than 5 years in Japan.
If the person is a spouse of a Japanese citizen, the period of
stay requirement is shortened to more than 3 years.

The length of period of stay is not, however, the only essential
for the appraisal. The most important thing for the permission
is that the applicant is willing to naturalize and obeys the laws
   of Japan.
And the person has to able to support his/her family on his/her
   own in a proper manner.

This is quite a difficult procedure. We will verify each condition
of the applicant one by one in order to process the work for
   naturalization.
