Climate change experts with the United Nations say it's now "indisputable" human activity is causing climate change.

A new report warns extreme weather events are likely to become more frequent unless the world takes fast action.
- 新たな報告書では、世界が迅速な行動を取らなければ、異常気象の事象はより頻繁になる可能性があると警告しています。
The report is the first by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in eight years. It warns temperatures could cross a critical mark in less than 20 years.

Back in 2015, world leaders agreed to try to keep global warming to less than 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.

The new report says the average increase was already 1.1 degrees over the last decade.

And there's a more than 50 percent chance it crosses that 1.5-degree mark by 2040, even if global greenhouse emissions are on pace to reach net zero by around 2050.

The report says extreme heatwaves are now expected about five times more frequently than pre-1900.
