Japanese ballet dancer Kaneko Fumi has spoken to NHK about how she became emotional and burst into tears after her recent promotion to the top rank of Britain's Royal Ballet.
日本人バレエダンサーの金子扶生さんがＮＨＫに、英国のロイヤルバレエ団の最高位への最近の昇格のあと、感情が高ぶり、急に泣き出したことについて語りました。

"It had been my dream since elementary school to become a dancer recognized by the world. I can hardly express my feelings in words."
「世界に認められるダンサーになることは、小学校の頃からの夢でした。気持ちを言葉で表すことは、とてもできません」
On Tuesday, the prestigious ballet company announced Kaneko's promotion to principal dancer, which is the highest rank in the ballet world.
火曜日にこの名門バレエ団は、バレエ界での最高位であるプリンシパルダンサーへの金子さんの昇格を発表しました。
The 29-year-old joined the company in the 2010-11 season and had been a first soloist, the second-highest position, since 2018.
２９歳の金子さんは、このバレエ団に２０１０年から２０１１年のシーズンに入団し、２０１８年からは２番目に高い位である第１ソリストでした。
Kaneko underwent surgery twice to treat a ruptured knee ligament, but made a comeback both times.
金子さんは断裂した膝のじん帯を治療する手術を２回受けましたが、２回とも復帰しました。
She said although it wasn't an easy path, she feels there was nothing wasted and everything that happened to her has made her what she is now.
金子さんは、簡単な道のりではなかったけれど、無駄になったことは何もなかったし、自身に起こった全てのことが今の自分を作ったと感じていると話しました。
