World-renowned fashion designer Koshino Junko has been awarded France's highest order of merit: the Legion of Honor.
- 世界的に有名なファッション・デザイナーのコシノジュンコさんが、フランスの最高位の勲章「レジオン・ドヌール勲章」を授与されました。
French Ambassador to Japan Philippe Setton presented Koshino with the award Tuesday in a ceremony at his official residence in Tokyo.
- フィリップ・セトン駐日フランス大使が火曜日に、東京にある大使公邸での式典でコシノさんに勲章を贈りました。
Koshino was made a chevalier, one of the award's five ranks, for her contributions to cultural exchange between Japan and France.
- コシノさんは、日本とフランスの間の文化交流に貢献したとして、レジオン・ドヌール勲章の５つの位のうちの１つ「シュバリエ」となりました。
Setton said Koshino has served as a bridge between their countries through her outstanding work and personality.

Koshino is a native of Osaka in western Japan. She showed one of her collections in Paris for the first time in 1978. She has since held fashion shows around the world.

The visionary has also been involved in designing various products and has been active in promoting Japanese culture overseas.
