The Walt Disney Company has revised a content advisory notice that warns viewers about racist stereotypes in some of its classic films.
- ウォルト・ディズニーは、自社の古典的傑作の一部に含まれる人種差別的な紋切り型表現について、視聴者に通告するための内容に関する注意書きを改訂しました。
The firm altered the warning earlier this month.
- 同社は今月、その警告文を改めました。
It appears at the beginning of a movie when viewers access the films on the Disney Plus streaming service.
- 注意書きは、動画配信サービスの「ディズニー＋」で視聴者がそれらの作品にアクセスすると、冒頭で表示されます。
The message says, "This program includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures. These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now."
- そのメッセージには、「この作品には（特定の）人々または文化の否定的な描写および不当な表現、またはそのいずれかが含まれます。こうした紋切り型表現は、当時も今も間違っています」とあります。
The company's website also explains those statements in detail.

It says the 1953 film "Peter Pan" depicts Indigenous people in a stereotypical manner.
- ホームページによりますと、１９５３年公開の「ピーター・パン」は先住民族を固定観念に基づく方法で描いているとのことです。
It also mentions the 1970 film "The Aristocats." It says a cat with slanted eyes and buck teeth in the movie is a "racist caricature of East Asian peoples, with exaggerated stereotypical traits."
