The U.S. Justice Department has filed an antitrust lawsuit against Google, accusing the tech company of unlawfully maintaining a monopoly to dominate online search and advertising markets.
- アメリカ司法省は、独占的な立場を違法に維持してインターネット検索とオンライン広告の市場を支配しているとして、グーグルを反トラスト法違反で提訴しました。
The lawsuit accuses Google of signing agreements with popular device makers like Apple and Samsung to secure default status for its search engine.
- 訴訟は、初期設定として自社の検索エンジンが使われるようアップルやサムスン電子などの人気端末メーカーと契約を結んでいるとして、グーグルを訴えています。
As a result of its anticompetitive conduct, Justice officials say, Google has accounted for nearly 90 percent of all general search engine queries in the U.S. in recent years.
- その反競争行為の結果、グーグルが近年、アメリカでの検索エンジンを使った一般検索の９０％近くを占めるに至ったと司法省は述べています。
The lawsuit also alleges Google uses data obtained from its search service for its advertising business.

Google denies the allegations, describing the lawsuit as "deeply flawed."
