☆NO 47 A Prayer of Hope
This is a painting based on the story of Mary.
She told me of a memory of her younger days in Nazareth.
One day, early in the morning, she was awakened by a strange noise coming from the sky.
It sounded like innumerable angels playing harps in the sky.
Her mother later told her that it was the sound of a wave in the Sea of Galilee.
Since it is a long way from Nazareth to the Sea of Galilee, it was an unusual natural phenomenon, so her mother said to Mary, “You have received the grace of God.”
That is what Mary told me. That’s all.
After I heard this, I could not stop thinking that Mary and David were meeting in person by the Spirit.
This was because I had wondered why Mary accepted his words so easily when she was visited by the angel Gabriel.
So I prayed to God and was shown Psalm 33.
Well, this is the song in which David praises God on his harp in front of the raging Lake of Galilee.
This and the Magnificat in which Mary praises God go well together.
And I was able to find the answer to my question in it.
To think that the prayer of one girl 2,000 years ago led to our salvation,
I could not help but be deeply moved.
And I praised God Almighty. For between the two of them lay more than a thousand years.
I hope you can catch her prayer of hope from this praise.
So, please listen to the two of them praising God in time.
Praises of David and Mary (Beyond the time)
David.
The Lord looks from heaven; He sees all the children of men.
From the place of His habitation, He looks at all the inhabitants of the earth.
Mary.
My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
For He has regarded the lowly state of his maidservant;
For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.
For He who is mighty will do a great thing for me. (1)
David.
Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous! For praise from the upright is beautiful.
Praise the Lord with the harp;
Make melody to Him with an instrument of ten strings.
Sing to Him a new song; Play skillfully with a shout of joy.
For the word of the Lord is right, and all His work is done in truth.
He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.
He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap;
He lays up the deep in storehouses.
Let all the earth fear the Lord;
Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
Mary.
Holy is His name.
And His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation.
He will show strength with His arm; (2)
He will scatter the pride in the imagination of their hearts. (3)
He will put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalt the lowly. (4)
He will fill the hungry with good things, and the rich He sent away empty. (5)
David.
For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.
The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing;
He makes the plans of the people of no effect.
The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
The plans of His heart to all generations.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
And the people whom He has chosen as His inheritance.
Mary.
He will help His servant Israel, in remembrance of His mercy, (6)
Beyond the time, as He spoke to our fathers, Abraham, and his seed forever.
David
Even so, come, Lord!
Mary
Surely Lord is coming quickly.
David and Mary
The grace of our Lord is with you all. Amen!
