mn 45 The Crossroad
This place is the crossroads where he is on His way to Golgotha from the court in the city.
Jesus was struck by a whip thirty-nine times, Roman soldiers led Him on the road to crucify.
He carried a heavy bar for the cross, however, He exhausted himself.
When He fell over at the crossroad, Mary had been watching that and kneeled and asked Him.
This is a dialogue between Jesus and Mary.
Mary.
Jesus, why do You have to receive such pain?
Jesus.
Mary, this pain of Mine is what I gave to you in the beginning.
Because women in the world are in pain, they give birth to children.
Therefore, the pain is what I receive now as you told Me once to comprehend human beings.
Mary.
Son! What would come into being from Your pain?
Jesus.
Mother! Come. On the third day when I was buried, you will see the answer.
I prayed three times that you would not meet this sorrow.
But I shall drink this cup for seeing the glory of the Father.
And whoever believes Me will see the glory of Father and Me.
Therefore they shall be called children of God. And this is Father's will.
Mary, let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Because I have overcome the world.
Mary.
My Son! I believe in You.@
I do not give up, and I will be there.
This painting represents the reason Mary and other women come to His tomb on the third day.
