ＮＯ 42 The Rescue of Mary Magdalene☆
Now, Jesus, Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age. Great multitudes followed Him from every town in Galilee.
One day He went up to the mountain which is by the sea of Galilee. His disciples came to Him. And the mother of Jesus was there.
Then He taught them and said:" You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not commit adultery.'
"But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
Jesus found the old Nazareth's villagers in the crowd and said this word to them who had reproached Mary for her pregnancy.
So, Mary understood what He meant. Now when the evening, Mary turned to Jesus and said privately." Today your speech was very good.
Some say He is Elijah.' Some say He is John the Baptist.' And I am grateful that you took away my reproach among people.
But I am anxious about your disciple John and his brother James. They are boys, I mean boys to be boys."
Jesus asked Mary "Mother, what do you want me to do for you?" Mary answered.
"I need your favor. There is a young widow in the next town. she is in big trouble and needs help. However, your disciples are crazy for her."
Jesus was not the least bit surprised by the story. Because every town by the Sea of Galilee was an immoral town.
Jesus said about that town, "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon. And you,
Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades." Those were piscatorial towns. so, many fishermen came to stay there.
They were working all night. But when the weather was bad, they were playing all night. They often drink away with women through the night.
So, many women served them. They often isolated themselves from God. Simon Peter was the same.
When he became his disciple, he fell to Jesus's knees and said," Depart from me, for I am a sinful man." He is honest. So, Jesus loved him very much.
This is the reason why Jesus began his ministry in Galilee. Jesus knew the town where he has been lived.
Now when night. Jesus and Mary and his disciples came to the town of Magdalene.
