A Tokyo home builder says it plans to construct an office building with a frame made almost exclusively of wood.
- ある東京の住宅建築業者が、骨組みがほぼ木材だけでできたオフィスビルを建設することを予定していると述べています。
Aqurahome will construct the eight-story building on a site north of the city. It will serve as the firm's new head office from 2024.

Company officials say little metal will be required for the framework's joints thanks to building methods developed through housing construction.

They say costs will be low, as carpenters working on the building won't use large machinery.

Takenaka Corporation is constructing a 12-story wood-and-steel-frame commercial building in Tokyo's Ginza district. Sumitomo Forestry plans to build a 70-story tower made almost entirely of wood in Tokyo by 2041.
