Quantum computer-AI is hyped, useless, cannot cure cancers.

Quantum computer is useless
AI is useless for cancers.

Fake quantum-AI-cancer research just used a classical computer (= cannot cure cancers ).  Quantum computers are still Not computers (= of course, cannot cure cancers ).

(Fig.1)  Quantum computers and AI are useless for cancers

Quantum computer-AI is fake, overhyped, useless for cancer therapy.

Hyped research news ↓

The 2nd paragraph of this hyped news on quantum cancers research (1/27/2025) says

"the researchers combined quantum computing and generative AI with classical computing methods to create molecules targeting a cancer-driving protein called KRAS"

↑ A classical computer (= hyped AI ) was necessary in this research, because today's error-prone quantum computers alone are useless.

This research tries to develop drugs that are already proven ineffective for cancers with KRAS mutation.

The 5th paragraph of the above same news says
"Mutations in KRAS drive uncontrolled cell growth and are present in about one in four human cancers,... there are currently only two FDA-approved drugs that specifically target mutant KRAS. Moreover, clinical data show existing drugs extend life by only a few months compared to traditional chemotherapy"

↑ KRAS-target drugs, which already exist, are Not effective for cancers, but this research tried to make this already-known useless drugs.

Quantum computers are useless. Classical computer AI was trained on molecular datasets that are already known to affect the target cancer KRAS proteins (= but useless for actual cancer therapy ).

The 6th paragraph of the above same research news says
"To discover potential new drugs against KRAS, the researchers paired a quantum computer alongside classical computing methods to design new molecules. They optimized their models by first training them with a custom-built dataset of 1.1 million molecules, including 650 that had been experimentally validated to block KRAS"

↑ A classical computer instead of the useless quantum computer is necessary after all.

Classical computer AI trained on already-known molecules (= instead of useless quantum computers ) was used, and its AI prediction rate was very bad = only 2/15.

The 7th paragraph of the above same research news says
"Next, the research team used Insilico Medicine's generative AI engine Chemistry42 (= classical computer software ) to screen the molecules and identify the 15 most promising candidates for lab testing. Of the 15, two molecules stood out for their strong ability to target multiple different versions of mutated KRAS in live cells, highlighting their potential (= still useless ) as anti-cancer drugs."

↑ Instead of useless quantum computers, the classical computer-AI tool was used to predict molecules affecting the target cancer protein KRAS with very low success rate of only 2/15 (= which low success rate cannot predict side effects ).

↑ Not only quantum computers but also AI was useless.

Quantum computers are useless with No advantage.

The 12th paragraph of the above same research news says
"This is a proof-of-principle study but does Not provide any sign of significant quantum advantage"  ← No quantum computer's advantage over classical computers ( this-2nd-last-paragraph ) in this research.

Only 16 impractical qubits were used, which is still Not a quantum computer.

This or this research paper ↓

p.2-Fig.1a says "training dataset, starting with 650 experimentally verified KRAS inhibitors sourced from the literature"  ← Already-known KRAS inhibitor molecules were used as training dataset, which is Not a prediction by (hyped) AI.

p.14 shows this so-called quantum computer used only 16 qubits (= one qubit can take only 0 or 1 value = still Not computers, this-p.11-paragraph ), which are useless, still far from millions of qubits required for a practical quantum computer.

p.4-Fig.2c,f showed these two synthesized molecules also badly affected the normal wild-type KRAS protein (= WT = necessary for the normal biological functions ), which could cause serious side effects.
