(Fig.1) We must use experimental data to predict "real concept" !
This Nature physics paper has nothing to do with quantum spin nor "spooky" action. The media is lying. And they rely on unreal quasiparticle in solids.
In the present quantum mechanics, even when we get some new experimental data, we cannot use them to clarify real mechanisms !
Instead, quantum mechanics forces us to use these data to create artificial quasiparticle, effective mass .. So our science stops its progress.
This is a very serious problem. We must address it immediately not to increase more educational victims under false science.
(Fig.2) Neutron scattering method to get atomic images.
Neutron with neutral charge is scattered directly by atomic nuclei or magnetic interaction ( this p.8 ).
So analyzing the patterns of scattered neutron through some sample, we can estimate crystal's structure based on atomic magnetic distribution.
The point is this magnetism detected by neutron scattering has nothing to do with unreal electron spin. Those atomic magnet originates from "orbital motion".

Quantum mechanical model stops our science. When you get some experimental data from for example, neutral scattering, you should construct "realistic" model.
But instead, quantum mechanics forces us to stick to old useless model, which is too simple and too abstract to be applied to actual phenomema.
In these useless quantum model, they just put three letters side by side (= JSS ) where S is basically pseudospin (= NOT real ! ) in complicated crystals.
These quantum mechanical spin models are meanignless and impractical, with NO contribution to our science !

How does the present quantum mechanics describe the actual ferromagnetism in iron magnet ? In fact, quantum mechanics has NO ability to explain actual phenomena.
They just put three simple letters side by side to express ferromagnet.
This spin model is too abstract to deal with actual complicated phenomena !
Here, "S" denotes "electron spin" at each atomic position, and "J" means the strength of their spin-spin interaction. That's all.
This spin interaction parameter J is freely chosen and adjustable ( NOT gotten from the original spin postulate ! ), so useless and can predict nothing.

Quantum mechanics is too old to describe realistic, complicated atomic structure. They always force us to stick to too simple, useless spin model such as "JSS".
S is usually unreal pseudo-spin, and "g" denotes the interactive strength between magnetic field (= H ) and spin S, but they are also unreal effective spin-g-factor ( this Fig.3 ).
All these spin-spin interaction (= J ) and spin-g-factor are freely adjusted to fit experimental results ( this p.3 ) and their spin derection ( this p.2 )
These quantum models have NO ability to predict new unknown physical values, because they just change these artificial parameters depending on different experimental results.
(Fig.6) ↓ Quantum mechanics forbids us to adopt realistic model (= upper ).
In this Nature paper, they use "neutron scattering" as a tool to investigate crystal structure.
But when analizing the experimental data, they are forced to adopt old quantum mechanical useless model ( E = JSS ) instead of realistic model (= Fig.6 upper ).
As you think, it's impossible to express all complicated actual physical phenomena in our world using only very simple letters forced by quantum mechanics.
This is the reason why quantum mechanics is harmful to all of us by stopping all scientific fields, preventing curing fatal disease.
