Attention! SimpleText bug

SimpleText1.1.1 has a bug in the printing routine. It does not appear as long as you print all pages or pages which start from page 1. It will appear when you print from page 2 or later. For example,
If you indicate to print from page 2, actual printing starts from page 3.
If you indicate to print from page 3, actual printing starts from page 5.
If you indicate to print from page 4, actual printing starts from page 7.

When you perform double-sided printing with SkipPrint, you must indicate to print from page 2 for the second side. If you use the SimpleText1.1.1, double-sided printing fails because you get page 3 printed on the reverse of page 1.

This bug is peculiar to version 1.1.1; it is not found in version 1.2 or later. TeachText, which is the precursor of SimpleText, does not have this bug.

Please check SimpleText on your HD ( hard disk ). You can see the version number in the dialog box which appears when you choose "About SimpleText..." menu after starting a SimpleText. If you see "Version 1.1.1" in the box, this is the version with the problem. Please replace it with the latest version of SimpleText.

It is possible that version 1.1.1 has been in use on your HD, if it was installed with System 7.5. Updating the version on your HD does not necessarily clear the problem. Version 1.1.1 is often found in CD-ROMs supplied as supplements with magazines. It may often happen that you print a "Read me" file immediately after double-clicking on the SimpleText file icon on the CD-ROM. The problem would then recur.
