In a quiet village nestled between misty hills, there lived a crow named Kuro who was no ordinary bird. Kuro had a sharp eye, a sharper mind, and a peculiar obsession: shiny coins.
Each morning, Kuro flew over the village, scanning rooftops and streets for glimmers. One day, he spotted a silver coin lying beside a vending machine. But the machine wasn't just any machine?it dispensed warm chestnut buns, Kuro's favorite treat.
Kuro watched as villagers inserted coins and received buns. He understood the pattern. So, he devised a plan.
First, he practiced dropping pebbles into puddles to mimic the sound of coins. Then, he tried slipping bottle caps into the machine. No luck. Finally, he found a real coin near the shrine and tucked it under his wing.
At dawn, when the village was still asleep, Kuro swooped down, dropped the coin into the slot, and click! Out came a steaming bun.
Triumphant, he cawed loudly, waking the baker who peeked outside and saw the clever thief. Instead of chasing him away, the baker laughed and placed a small sign on the machine: "One bun per crow per day."
From then on, Kuro became a local legend. Children left coins for him, hoping to see the famous bun-buying crow. And Kuro, proud and puffed, never missed his daily treat.
