Democracy is based on freedom of expression. However, this freedom can sometimes lead to conflicts. Criticism may turn into competition, and opposing views can become irreconcilable. At worst, this could even escalate into war. Is this the true nature of democracy?
What is important in democracy is to understand each other's thoughts and eventually work together. With empathy and effort to understand others' positions, we can move beyond mere exchange of opinions to genuine collaboration.
A true ideal of democracy is where people's voices coexist, finding common ground and moving forward together.
