A face mask has been found in the feces of a sea turtle in northern Japan, raising environmental concerns over their disposal.

The discovery was made by university researchers from Tokyo who study sea turtle ecology along the coastline of Iwate Prefecture.

They say that the nonwoven mask was excreted by a green sea turtle caught in a fixed net last August.
