Taiwanese leaders have seen their neighbors get in on a trade deal that spans the Pacific. Now they've applied to join a week after Chinese leaders did.
台湾の指導者たちは、近隣の国々が太平洋に広がる貿易協定に参加するのを見てきました。今、彼らは中国の指導者たちが加入申請した１週間後に申請を行いました。
The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership grew out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

The 11 member countries have a combined population of 500 million. Their aggregate GDP adds up to more than 11 trillion dollars, 13 percent of the world's total.

Members have streamlined rules on trade and investment. And they've agreed to reduce or remove tariffs on most industrial and agricultural products.
