The German Olympic confederation has asked the Tokyo Games ruling body to grant an exception to the Paralympic gold medalist known as the "Blade Jumper" to let him compete against able-bodied athletes.

Markus Rehm set a para long-jump world record of 8.62 meters last month. That's 24 centimeters further than the gold medal winning jump at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
