BRITAIN TO SLASH VAT IN SERVICE INDUSTRIES

Britain will slash its value-added tax in several service industries in a bid to stimulate consumer spending amid the coronavirus pandemic.
- イギリスでは、新型コロナウイルスの世界的な流行の中で、消費支出を活発にするため、いくつかのサービス業における付加価値税を引き下げます。
The cut will affect restaurants and hotels, which are two of the hardest-hit industries.

The chancellor of the exchequer has told Parliament that the rate will come down to five percent from July 15 to January 12 next year. It is currently at 20 percent.

Customers at pubs, movie theaters, and theme parks will also enjoy the lower rate.
