Letter from Geneva; Excerpt

The lanterns made by students in Hiroshima carried a message to the people gathered at
this event on August 6 in Geneva. It was an inter-faith discussion and meditation, held in
a beautiful small church in the middle of Geneva city.
The lanterns brought us messages of hope. They are also symbols of shared action for
peace. Their light and the students' messsages invited us to see what small steps we can
also take towards getting rid of nuclear weapons.
At the event here in Geneva, people of different faiths came together around the lanterns
to share hope and a common will for peace.
Thank you to Hiroshima Coventry Club for this memorabe and important international
initiative. (Jonathan Frerichs)
