糸は天然染料を用いて手染めします。 使用する染料は、コチニール（グレー、明るい赤、紫）、茜（ピンク、朱色）、胡桃（茶色）、柘榴（黄色）、藍（藍色）などです。 All the yarns are hand dyed, and the colours are mainly produced by cochineal which yields a range of colours from grey to bright crimson and purple, madder which yields a range of reddish clolours from pink to deep vermilion, walnuts which yield brown, pomegranates which yield yellow, and indigo which yields indigo blue. | ||

に於いても、自家製鉄漿と天然明礬石を用いています。 The dyeing method only requires natural sources: rock alum and iron water are used as a mordant to fix colours onto fibres with dyestuffs. | ||

メリノウール糸を取り寄せて、天然染料で様々な色に染めています。 The woollen merino yarn I use is produced at a small mill in the U.K. It has almost the same quality as hand spun woollen yarn. I dye the yarn with natural dyestuffs to obtain a variety of colours. | ||

羊には白以外にも茶色やグレー、ベージュなど様々な色をした品種がいます。 そんなナチュラルカラーに惹かれ、刈り取られたフリースを紡ぎ車で紡毛糸や梳毛糸に紡ぎます。 使用する羊毛の品種は、柔らかい毛質のシェトランド、ポロワス、コーモ、コリデールなどです。 There are a variety of colours of sheep such as brown, grey and beige. I am fascinated by such natural colours, and I spin the fleece into woollen yarn and worsted yarn in a spinning wheel. I mainly use shetland, polwarth, como, corriedale. |

京都や愛媛県で作られる生糸、タッサ−シルク、スパンシルクを用いて、光沢のある繊細なショールを織ります。また、ウール糸や麻糸とあわせて個性的な織物をつくることもあります。 Raw silk, tussah silk and spun silk made in Kyoto and Ehime in Japan are used for lustrous delicate shawls. When these silk yarns are woven with woollen yarn and linen yarn, interesting texture is created. | ||
