Verbs do not conjugate but inflect to the six forms; 未然形, 連用形, 終止形, 連体形, 仮定形, and 命令形.

未然形: the imperfective form or the irrealis form: This form connects to, for example, ない and う.

連用形: the predicate-modifying form: This form connects to, for example, ます

終止形: the sentence-ending form or the dictionary form: This form ends the sentence.

連体形: the noun-modifying form: This form connects to, for example, とき and こと.

仮定形: the hypothetical form or the conditional form: This form connects to, for example, ば.

命令形: the imperative form: This form ends the sentence.


*終止形 and 連体形 have the same form and called "the dictionary form."
