I-adjectives and adjectival verbs inflect to the five forms; 未然形, 連用形, 終止形, 連体形, and 仮定形.

未然形: the imperfective form or the irrealis form: This form connects to, for example, う.

連用形: the predicate-modifying form: This form connects to, for example, た and ない.

終止形: the sentence-ending form or the dictionary form: This form ends the sentence.

連体形: the noun-modifying form: This form connects to, for example, とき and こと.

仮定形: the hypothetical form or the conditional form: This form connects to, for example, ば.
