1851年の作品。1853年に書かれた名曲「わが懐かしいケンタッキーの家よ おやすみ」に通じる詞と音楽ですが、ちょっとフォスターにしては平凡な音楽かも知れません。古き良きアメリカを感じさせる雰囲気豊かな歌ではあるのですが。
