'Tis an hour yet and an hour yet to the rising of the moon， But I can see the black roof-tree as plain as it were noon. 'Tis a league and a league to the Lena Falls where the trouping blackbuck go; But I can hear the little fawn that bleats behind the doe. そしてそのただ一人の息子は再び横になり夢を見た 自分が夢見たことを 「今 ぼくは女から生まれ 母親の胸に横たわっていたのだろうか？ ぼくは毛むくじゃらの皮を夢見ていたから そこで休んでいたんだ それでぼくは女から生まれ 父親の腕に横たわっていたのだろうか？ ぼくは夢見ていたんだ 歯の衝突を ぼくを危害から守る」 「そしてぼくは一人息子として生まれ 一人で遊んだのだろうか？ ぼくは夢見て来た 仲間が二人いることを ぼくを骨まで噛む それでぼくは大麦の束を崩してタイヤに浸したのだろうか？ ぼくは夢見て来た 幼い子を 牛小屋から生まれたばかりの ぼくは夢見て来た 真夜中の空と真夜中の血への呼びかけを そして赤い口の影が通り過ぎ それはぼくを食べ物から突き放す まだ一時間ある 月が昇るまで一時間 でもぼくには見える 黒い屋根の木は昼と同じくらい平板に あれは仲間だ レナフォールズへ行く仲間だ ブラックバックが行くところへ だけど聞こえる 子鹿の声が 母鹿の陰で鳴いている あれは仲間だ レナフォールズへ行く仲間だ 畑と高地が出会うところに でもぼくは匂いを感じる 湿った夜明けの風の 芽を出そうとする小麦を目覚めさせる ドアを開けて ぼくは待てないんだ 外に出て見てみなければ あれが外で待つオオカミか それともぼくの親族なのか！」 彼女はかんぬきを緩め ボルトを滑らせ ドアを開けた すると灰色の雌のオオカミが暗闇から出てきて、一人息子にまとわりついた！ |
