Introduction

The Janáček Association Japan is devoted to the great Czech composer, Leoš Janáček It was established in 1998.

The purpose of the association is to introduce Janáček and czech music, and to help musician, students and music fans.
Our activities are as followings :

(1) Publish bulletin: interviews of musicians, report of concerts, and CD reviews etc.

(2) Provide information on internet web pages

(3) Hold events: party, seminar, concert etc.

(4) Publish books about Janáček in Japanese

Janáček Association Japan has published seven guidebooks about opera works. They include librettos and commentaries in Japanese.

The Association is recruiting new members now. Fortunately, the authority of czech music in Japan, Dr. Hideo Sekine is willing to advise us, and some musicians and students have joined and are helping us.

Every adherents of Janáček will be welcomed to our association. The Association has no political and religious connections, and is devoted solely to musical interests. We have a good relation with Japan Czech Association/Japan Slovak Association and Japan Martinů Association.

We hope to have relationships with music fans abroad, students, and groups. If you are interested in our activity, please don't hesitate to contact us.
