Hello! It was a shiny day, yesterday. On the 14th of June, the second "Koshien on the ice" is going to be held at Kansai University. Thank you for sending me mails, some with the messages asking "Are you going to skate?".
I have just started jump practice and I have not come to the state like I can show you (a performance) yet,
so I am planning only to greet everybody at "Koushien on the ice" this time. I am really sorry for the fans who sent me mails expecting (for me to skate), then, I wrote this message because many(several?) fans gave me mails with the same question.

It's been a while, everyone.
How have you been?
I hope you are all well. (* He wrote this with Osaka dialect.)
It seemes the flu is going around.
I wear a mask which I am unaccustomed.(laugh)
Changing the subject, I went to see the final stage of "The phantom of the Opera" performed by Shiki Theatre Company on 17th. After all, this musical is fantastic. I felt anew that the scores and stagings, everything of the show was really wonderful.
I saw the stage again after a long time. I cried all through it empathizing emotionally because this musical was special for me.
I love "poing of no return" the most and the scene of Christine and Phantom and also the last scene of the three gave me goose bumps. I couldn't stop cyring.
The last curtain call was long becuase that was the final stage. Definitely it was worth it!! This show is the second longest long-run ever and more than 650,000 people went to see it. I was overwhelmed by the number!!
The power to move people is extraordinary, isn't it? It stimulated me.
I had to be out of the center stage the last season and often I felt down or thought too much. But seeing this mucical I recalled the season when I used this "The phantom of the Opera" and felt motivated now.
I can start jump practice soon.
I soon can come back and then I, who was moved here, want to be a skater who can move people.

I love talking but it's difficult for me to translate sentences into characters.(laugh)
Well, on a final note.
I love Phantom very much. I empathize with him so hard. I think it is an aspect which every human being has. I think so whenever I see Phantom.

I am sorry I haven't updated a message for a long time.
Yesterday, this year, my first skating! Soooo strained.
But I was able to skate better than I had thought, unexpectedly(laugh).
Wow... it's pleasant, to skate.
For the time being, I'm going to do on-ice training little by little, not everyday, and usual rehabilitation.
Your letters and messages are giving me energy. Thank you very much.
I would appreciate your support from now on too!!

Hello,
Some of you may already know, as a matter of fact, I had my right knee injured when I landed a jump on Oct 31 practice. I had my knee cooled immediately to see how things go towards Cup of China, but swelling didn't go down, I'm afraid I decided to withdraw from Cup of China because it's hard to bring my 100% ability into play in the present situation, compete with unsatisfactory condition.
I myself had been looking forward to introduce my new SP and FS in your presense, and it makes me feel regrettable for CoC this time, but I will concentrate on having my body rest in order to get my knee examined by a medical specialist in knee after swelling goes down.
I am terribly sorry for everyone who had been looking forward and for my giving the persons concerned trouble.
What I can do for the present is to accept this truth decidedly, face the present condition of my own, and spend time carefully day by day with concentrating on treatment, do my best to come back in your sight in a fine state again as soon as possible .
I would like to ask you for your cheering from now on too, please.

National Team Camp starts today!
|
It's hot everyday, isn’t it? I am sensitive to heat, and it lets me down. I drink too much water and I find my body is swollen every morning.
Well. I'd like to write about Prince Ice World Fukuoka. First of all, thank you for people who came to the show down to Fukuoka. I performed a new program. (Sorry for people who expected "Eye".(sweat mark))
What I did was one minute shorter version of long program of this season. Music is “Ocean wave”, played by piano only. Mr. Pasquale Camerlengo did choreography this year. He brought this music and it did not click right away when I heard it first, but the more I listened to it, the more I liked it. Right now I love this music pretty much. How do you like my performance? Please let me know, those who came to the shows. I'd like to talk about choreography. I went to Detroit this time. Detroit is the place where I trained when I was senior of high school. I had never imagined I came back here again. (LOL) Well, the rink is not the same and I skated at Detroit Skating Club this time. I was there for about 2 weeks. I had fun everyday. People at the rink were so great and they were so friendly to me!Johnathan (Skater) invited me to dance, so I went there with Yuka Sato-san. Style was “Modern Dance”. Being anatomically inflexible, I could not dance it at all (LOL). But I enjoyed it so much!! Yuka-san took me to play around together pretty much. The longer I stay with her, the more I love her personality! LOL. She is so interesting person!In the final week of my stay there, there was a skating competition “Skate Detroit”. It was a local competition but scale was pretty big and many skaters and coaches were there. Michelle Leigh, Jennifer Robinson, Carol Heiss Jenkins, etc.. I met lots of people and that brought back some good memories.
That’s all about off ice things.
As I wrote above, I asked Mr. Pasquale Camerlengo for choreography. During previous visit to US, he made a show number for me. I had very good feeling with it and our feeling clicked, so I decided to ask him this year. (I asked him a show number previously for try-out) He is easy to get along with, he always does his best, and I respect him so much. It seems that he likes Japan, and I found he acts like Japanese time to time. (LOL) He is so funny and often told jokes during session. But once he started dancing, I could not stop staring at him for his amorous charm!
Actually, we made 2 long programs.
One of them is Ocean Wave as I mentioned above.
The other one is…
Secret.
I’m not sure which programs I perform this year. I might do both of them. I will try my best to live up to your expectations.
One more thing!
I think these 2 programs will show you different aspects of Daisuke Takahashi. Well, I'd like to show them so I’ll do my best! Well, for next 4 days starting today, I will attend National team camp at Chukyo Univ. I will work hard!
