A very loud and colorful problem in Southern California is growing worse.
- 南カリフォルニアで、とても騒々しく色彩豊かな問題が悪化しています。
Peacocks are invading neighborhoods. And these proud peacocks are standing their ground.
- クジャクが近隣の住宅地にまで侵入してきているのです。そして、堂々としたクジャクは一歩も引かない構えです。
"It sounds like babies being tortured ... and with a close-up microphone. It's very shocking."

Peafowl have lived in the area for decades after being brought over from their native homes in South Asia to serve as status symbols for the wealthy.
- クジャクは、富裕層の地位の象徴としての役割を果たすべく南アジアの故郷から連れて来られてから、何十年もこの地域に住んでいます。
But their population has exploded in the last year, and now the colorful birds have become a nasty nuisance to neighbors.

Making matters worse, some people are feeding the birds, which wildlife experts say makes them dependent and contributes to their population growth.

And there is a plan to address the problem. It involves animal control officers humanely capturing the peacocks and relocating them to farms in other parts of California.
