No sudden thing of glory and fear Was the Lord's coming; but the dear Slow Nature's days followed each other To form the Saviour from his Mother one of the children of the year. The earth，the rain，received the trust， The sun and dews，to frame the Just. He drew his daily life from these. According to his own decrees Who makes man from the fertile dust. Sweet summer and the winter wild， These brought hirn forth，the Undefiled. The happy Springs renewed again His daily bread，the growing grain， The food and raiment of the Child. |
突然のことではない 栄光と畏敬の 主が来られたことは そうではなく 親愛なる ゆったりとした自然の時は続いて流れ行き 形作って行くのだ 救い主を御母のうちに この年に生まれる子供の一人として 大地が 雨が 信託を受け 太陽と露が 正義を形成し 神は御子の日々の暮らしをここから引き出された 御自身の掟に従って 人を作られたのだ 肥沃な塵より 甘き夏と激しき冬 これらはもたらした 未来を 幸せな春は再びもたらすのだ 毎日のパンを 成長する穀物を 御子の食べ物と衣服とを |
