The whispering shell is mute， And after is evil cheer; She shall stand on the shore and cry in vain， Many and many a year. ひとりは漕ぎ出す 海へ 海へと ひとりは岸辺に立って叫ぶ 船は進みゆく 世界へと そして光は 不機嫌な海の上で消えゆく ささやく貝は沈黙し あとには邪悪な歓呼が 彼女は岸辺に立って空しく叫ぶのだ 何年も何年も だが あの堂々とした広い翼の船は 難破して横たわる 難破して横たわる 見知らぬ深みに 遥か水底で 死んで珊瑚のベッドの中 恋する男は眠っている |
