Everybody else，then，going， And I still left where the fair was? . . . Much have I seen of neighbour loungers Making a lusty showing， Each now past all knowing. There is an air of blankness In the street and the littered spaces; Thoroughfare，steeple，bridge and highway Wizen themselves to lankness; Kennels dribble dankness. Folk all fade. And whither， As I wait alone where the fair was? Into the clammy and numbing night-fog Whence they entered hither. Soon do I follow thither! |
他の皆は それでは 行ってしまい そして私だけまだ残っっているのか 市場のあったところに？．．． どれほどたくさん見てきたことか たむろしていた隣人たちが 威勢の良い表情を作って来たのを 皆今は行ってしまった すべてを知りながら 空白の空気が漂う 通りやゴミの散った広場に 大通りが 尖塔が 橋や道路が すっかり萎びてやせ細り 犬小屋は滴らせている 暗闇を 人々は皆消える だがどこへ 私一人が待っているのに あの市場があったところに？ あのじめじめと暗い夜霧の中へと 彼らは入って行ったのだ すぐに私もそのあとに続くのだろう！ |
Exeunt omnesとはお芝居のト書きで「全員退場」を言うのだそうです。
