フォスターにけっこうありそうな感じがしたのですが意外と多くないのがこういったタイプの教訓ソング。1851年の出版ですがこの時期にはこの曲くらいでしょうか。ほとんど歌われることは今やないようですが、しみじみとした味わいが悪くないです。隠れた傑作と言っても良いと私は思いました。
