Tyger Tyger，burning bright， In the forests of the night; What immortal hand or eye， Could frame thy fearful symmetry? In what distant deeps or skies Burnt the fire of thine eyes? On what wings dare he aspire? What the hand，dare sieze the fire? And what shoulder，& what art， Could twist the sinews of thy heart? And when thy heart began to beat， What dread hand? & what dread feet? What the hammer? what the chain， In what furnace was thy brain? What the anvil? what dread grasp， Dare its deadly terrors clasp! When the stars threw down their spears And water'd heaven with their tears: Did he smile his work to see? Did he who made the Lamb make thee? 虎よ 虎よ 明るく燃え立つ 夜の森の中で いかなる不滅の手が そして目が お前の恐ろしい均整を造りだすことができたのだ？ どんな彼方の深みで 空で お前の瞳の炎は燃えていたのか？ どんな翼でその造り手は飛び立とうとするのか？ いかなる手が その炎を掴もうとするのか？ そしてどんな肩が どんな技が お前の心臓の筋をねじることができたのだ？ そしてお前の心臓が鼓動し始めた時 どんな恐ろしい手が？ どんな恐ろしい足が？ どんなハンマーが？ どんな鎖が どんな炉の中にお前の脳みそはあったのか？ どんな金床だ どんな恐ろしき掴む力が その途轍もない恐怖を捕まえられたのだ！ 星たちがその槍を振り落とし 天をその涙で濡らした時 造り手は自らの作品を見てほほ笑んだのか 子羊をお造りになった方がお前をも造ったというのか？ 虎よ 虎よ 明るく燃え立つ 夜の森の中で いかなる不滅の手が そして目が お前の恐ろしい均整を造りだすことができたのだ？ |
