King of Glorie，King of Peace， I will love thee: And that love may never cease， I will move thee. Thou hast granted my request， Thou hast heard me: Thou didst note my working breast， Thou hast spar’d me. Wherefore with my utmost art I will sing thee， And the cream of all my heart I will bring thee. Though my sinnes against me cried， Thou didst cleare me; And alone，when they replied， Thou didst heare me. Sev’n whole days，not one in seven， I will praise thee. In my heart，though not in heaven， I can raise thee. Thou grew’st soft and moist with tears， Thou relentedst: And when Justice call’d for fears， Thou disentedst. Small it is，in this poore sort To enroll thee: Ev’n eternitie is to short To extol thee. |
栄光の王 平和の王 われは愛する 御身を： そしてこの愛は決して止まらないであろう われは心動かす 御身の： 御身は受け入れ給うた わが願いを 御身はわれを聞き届け給うたのだ 御身は気付いておられた わが動く胸に 御身は救い給うたのだ われを それゆえ わが最大限の技にて われは歌わん 御身のことを そしてわが心のすべての粋を われは捧げん 御身に わが罪どもはわれに向かい叫んだが 御身は浄め給うた われを そしてただ一人 罪どもが答えたときも 御身はわれのことを聞き入れ給うたのだ 七日すべての日を ただ一日だけではなく われは讃えん 御身を わが心のうちで たとえ天国でなくとも われは掲げられよう 御身を 御身はなられたのだ やさしくしっとりと 涙で 御身は憐れみ下さった そして 正義が恐れを求めたとき 御身は異議を宣われた 小さいのだ この哀れな者には 御身を受け入れるには 永遠でさえも短いのだ 御身を賞賛するためには |
