英文あらすじ（Synopsis）：

A relieved Aunt Kasumi tells Chihaya that her parents are now on their way to the Island. They were coming together - to take Chihaya home, to live as a family once and for all.

"I'll see you, Chihaya," Aya says, already aware of Chihaya's imminent departure. Aya seems sad, but her childish stubbornness about not wanting to let Chihaya go has been transcended by a mature reserve.Chihaya promises her that she will return to the Island soon. Aya, delighted, then beams and recites her plans about what they will do in fall and winter together. Finally, Aya's father and mother ease her to a stop and exit the hospital room, leaving Chihaya alone to rest in her bed. They will come back again after supper.

ドアが閉められると、部屋の中はひどく静かになる。風で白いカーテン越しに木々の影が揺れると、さわさわと梢の触れ合う音がした。
　「また、すぐ来るよ」
　千早は、さっきの自分の言葉をもう一度言ってみた。改めて、自分の唇に手をやる。
　唇には、まだほのかに潮の香りと、日に灼けた髪のいい匂いが残っているような気がした。

　The door closed and Chihaya's bedroom became all quiet. Through the curtains' white fabric, Chihaya saw the silhouettes of treetops stirred gently by the breeze from the sea. She could hear the soft brush of the twigs against one another.
　"I'll be right back, Aya."
　She repeated her words to herself and felt her lips with her fingertips. Somehow, that reminded her of the salty tang of the sea and the fragrant scent of Aya's sun-tanned hair.
