(Fig.1) Still sending weak light (= entangled photons ? ) over only 15km with 43% error rate is a completely useless and hopeless quantum internet despite longtime researches.
The 1st paragraphs of this hyped news (11/3/2024) say
"towards a future quantum internet (= still unrealized ).... with deployed optical internet fiber, enabling a 25 km quantum link." ← Just 25km short link is far from a practical quantum internet.
↑ This research paper p.2 shows weak light (= fictitious photons ) was emitted from either of two nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond excited by light in Delft or Hague over only 10km ~ 15km (= too short distance to be a practical internet ) toward the light detectors in the middle point between them.
This p.27-lower shows the measured error rate of this still-impractical quantum network was 43.2 ~ 46.6%. ← Too high error rates to send precise information
↑ Despite extremely-longtime quantum network research, physicists could send (weak) light over only 10 ~ 15km (= No progress ) with impractically-high error rate.
Quantum network, internet, communication are impossible forever due to severe loss of fragile photons (= constant significant loss of quantum information ).
