(Fig.1) Quantum mechanics obstructing science needs fictional targets and hyped news
See Google AI cannot correct quantum computers (11/24/2024).
See Microsoft quantum computer is error-prone (11/24/2024)
(Fig.Q) Only 2 ~ 4 qubits (= one qubit can take only 0 or 1 state ) is still Not a computer.
The 1st paragraph of this overhyped news (11/24/2024) says
"A study.. reveals that quantum information could potentially (= just speculation, still useless ) be utilized to synchronize the movements of mobile devices like drones and autonomous vehicles."
↑ This research paper ↓
p.19-7.2 says ". Indeed our quantum-circuit implementations of rendezvous strategies use only up to four qubits" ← Just 4 qubits (= each qubit can take only 0 or 1 state, this p.31-Figure.6 ) is still Not a computer nor making self-driving cars efficient, contrary to the above hyped news.
The 6th-paragraph of this hyped news (11/24/2024) says
"However, qubit-based VQE is currently only implemented up to 2 qubits (= 01 ) in photonic systems and 12 qubits in superconducting systems, and is challenged by error issues that make it difficult to scale"
↑ Just 2 ~ 12 qubits (= each qubit can take only 0 or 1 ) is still Not a quantum computer. VQE is hybrid computer, which is just a classical computer.
↑ This research paper's p.1-abstract says "VQE can efficiently estimate the ground state energy of hydrogen (H2) and lithium hydride (LiH) molecular systems corresponding to two- and four-qubit systems" ← Just 2 ~ 4 qubits (= 2 ~ 4 bitstring ) is still Not a quantum computer. This hybrid VQE relies heavily on an ordinary practical classical computer, so No quantum advantage.
The 3rd-last paragraph of this hyped news (11/24/2024) says
"This recent study could (= just speculation, still useless ) soon pave the way for developing a new kind of highly efficient spintronic device, which the team refers to as proximitronics." ← hype
↑ This research paper's abstract says nothing about practical use nor "efficient spintronics device", contrary to the above hyped news.
As shown in this research paper's p.10-upper, this spintronics research was conducted at temperature far lower than room temperature, so No practical use.
↑ The only way of advancing the current deadend spintronics is to miniaturize devices by manipulating single atoms through multi-probe atomic force microscopes.
