Leaders of China's Communist Party have adopted a resolution summing up the party's 100-year history. They appear to be aiming to consolidate the authority of President Xi Jinping.
- 中国共産党の指導者たちは、党の100年の歴史を総括する決議を採択しました。彼らには、習近平国家主席の権威を強固にするねらいがありそうです。
The state-run Xinhua news agency says the Central Committee held a plenary session from Monday to Thursday, attended by more than 300 senior party members including President Xi.
- 国営の新華社通信によると、中央委員会は月曜日から木曜日まで全体会議を開き、習主席を含む300人を超える党幹部が出席しました。
A communique issued after the meeting says they adopted a resolution on the Communist Party's achievements and history.
- 会議のあとで公表されたコミュニケ（公式声明）によれば、中国共産党の成果と歴史に関する決議を採択したということです。
The communique says the Central Committee, with Xi Jinping at its core, has solved many tough problems with political courage and a sense of mission.
- コミュニケでは、中央委員会は習近平氏を核心として、多くの難問を政治的な勇気と使命感で解決してきたと述べています。
It also says they paved the way for rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, enabling it to industrialize in decades. And it says they achieved rapid economic growth and enduring social stability at the same time.
- コミュニケではまた、中華民族の復活への道を切り開き、数十年で中華民族の工業化を実現させたと述べています。そして、急速な経済成長と長期的な社会の安定を同時に達成したと述べています。
The Communist Party had adopted this kind of resolution twice before, in 1945 and 1981. Experts say they helped consolidate the power bases of then leaders Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping.
