髪の黒染め指導は“学校の裁量範囲内”

A district court in western Japan has ruled in favor of a public high school which ordered a student to dye her hair black.
- 西日本の地方裁判所が、生徒に髪を黒く染めるように命じた公立高校を支持する判決を下しました。
The student had sued Osaka Prefecture after her school said she needed to darken her hair to conform to school rules.
- この生徒が大阪府を訴えたのは、生徒が通う学校が生徒に、校則に従うために髪を黒くする必要があると発言したのを受けてのことでした。
She said her hair was naturally brown, and she stopped attending the school after teachers repeatedly asked her to dye it. She sought about 20,000 dollars in damages.
- この女子生徒は自分の髪は生まれつき茶色だったと言い、教師が繰り返し髪を染めるように要請したあとで登校しなくなりました。女子生徒は、損害賠償金として約２万ドルを請求しました。
On Tuesday, the court said that the school's hair color rules are based on justifiable reasons. It said the school has discretion to discipline students.
- 火曜日に大阪地裁は、髪の色についての校則は正当な理由に基づいており、学校には生徒を規律する裁量があると述べました。
The court rejected the girl's claim about her natural hair color, saying teachers had examined her scalp and thought her hair was originally black.
- 大阪地裁は生まれつきの髪の色についての女子生徒の主張を退け、教師は女子生徒の髪の根元を調べ、もともと黒色だったと考えたと述べました。
But the court said the school should not have removed the girl's desk and deleted her name from its roster after her absence. It ordered the prefecture to pay her about 3,000 dollars in damages for this.
- しかし大阪地裁は、学校は女子生徒の欠席後に机を片づけたり、名簿から名前を消したりするべきではなかったと述べ、これについての損害賠償金として、女子生徒に約３,０００ドルを支払うよう大阪府に命じました。
