We begin with a sign of rising tensions on the Korean Peninsula. Pyongyang says it has blown up an inter-Korean liaison office near its border with the South.

The North's state-run media announced the move Tuesday afternoon.

A short time later, South Korea's defense ministry released video showing the moment the explosion erupted in the North Korean town of Kaesong.

The two sides opened the office in 2018, after agreeing to work toward denuclearizing the Peninsula.

Kim Yo Jong also criticized Seoul for allowing North Korean defectors to send anti-Pyongyang leaflets across the border.

That issue led the North to announce last week it was severing all communication channels with the South.
